Lately, I’ve been coming across phrases like “Authentically win customers” on the internet. I always have to laugh then! It seems to me that being authentic is only used as a marketing catchphrase these days.
Lt. Duden means to be authentic, to be credible. But we don’t find credibility in any marketing manual. At least I didn’t find it there, neither in my business studies nor in 15 years in business.
Because credibility is first and foremost a relationship with myself. I have to recognize myself as worthy to believe in myself. To trust myself. What I am, what I want and what I can. My beliefs and values. Do I listen to my inner voice? Do I know my inner truth and do I live it, even if it is sometimes uncomfortable? Do I know my goals or do I chase after the goals of others? Am i working for love? Do i work with love?
If I am not credible to myself, then any external credibility is only set up, adapted and appropriated.
It was only in this honesty towards myself that I found the courage and motivation to keep changing. Believing in my truth, my desires and my values, I was able to create new lives for myself again and again: Single parent student, record company boss and founder of Mindful Sessions are just a few of them and many will follow.
You can find out more about why it is so worth being yourself in the new podcast episode „Be yourself. It’s worth it!“
Much love,
your Sarah
